What a deep hole...
I have to stop asking myself, can things get any worse? Because the answer is, Yes, they can. It always seems that whenever we have a chance to finally get ahead financially, something always drags us down.
Case in point: Elizabeth changing schools is a big help for the short term, and one of Monica's relatives is helping us with some of our bills. It's tax season and we always get a decent return. Things are looking good for us, right?
Wrong.
For example, today's long hard rain reminded me how much we need a new roof. There's nearly a hole in the ceiling in James' room where water has been dripping, and the shelves on the left side of the sink are warped and coming apart because of rain running down them. Oh, and now the basement is flooding, again. Only now, its not our stuff that might get ruined, its Tony's. (He's moved back in again on a long-term temporary basis; at least, for as long as Monica can put up with his cats.)
And this past Friday, the van got totalled. Tony had borrowed it while his car was being looked at, and he was hit almost head-on by car full of drunks. The front axle looks to be broken, or at least, the drivers side wheel has broken off. Of course we have no insurance - couldn't afford it- but at least the other driver did. So now we need a new car. Well, a replacement car. And the car is more important than the roof at this point, so thats probably where the tax return money will go.
I forgot to mention my bed, which is literally falling apart. The frame is slightly too big, the box spring is coming apart, and the supports underneath are broken. I think the matress might still be ok though.
And I've been so fucking depressed lately, even before that shit on Friday. I even started taking the correct dosage of my meds, and its only seemed to have gotten worse. I can't sleep, I've been really dizzy, I don't want to do anything, and I'm barely making it to work.
And Monica is going to have a conniption when she sees what time this was posted. Sure I could change the post time... but I don't feel like it.
