Oye. Happy almost Halloween.
Things have been interesting lately, where should I start? Ok, school. I found out from a girl from work that the company I work for will pay for my schooling if I take a business or computer related course, as long as I maintain a C average. This kinda makes me lean toward a computer course again, because I'm pretty sure that they won't pay for culinary course. Which really sucks because I was really considering doing cooking. *sigh*
In other news, my friend Patrick has found a couple of gamers where he works (Wal-Mart). This is cool, we are trying to figure out when and where to play now. Tentative plans have been set for Tuesdays at my house. Looks like we are going to play Hero system, which reminds me a lot of DC Heros. You use points to build a character, buying stats and skills. We are going to play a Science Fiction theme, probably more like Star Trek than Star Wars. I think I'm going to make a bitter, alcoholic mechanic/engineer. Should be fun.
At work, I've been assigned to a new machine. Well, new to me, as I've never run it before. Its the big 20" slitter. I kinda like it. Reminds me of the Astra Plus slitter I ran a couple years ago. It runs at a decent pace, not too fast, but no time to stand around, either. And its away from the other slitters, between a couple of presses, so the only people I have to deal with are my packer and my boss when he comes to check up on me. Yesterday was my first day at it, and I got 80% of production. My boss was pleased. I'm sure I will do even better today.
One last thought: Why do crickets seem to enjoy my slippers??? It seems like every time I go to put them on, a cricket is taking a nap in the toes. Not a pleasant feeling when I forget to check for them... And what is it they like in there? Is it the fact that its dark? Or could it be the smell?? ::shudder:: I mean, my FEET go in there!! Ewwww!!!!
