I'm not dead yet...
It's funny, I didn't realize its been almost an entire year since I posted. I suppose I should remedy that with some compact updates and thoughts.
The bed is doing well, thank you for asking. It is still very comfy and a pleasure to sleep on.
Tony has since moved out. Supposedly he's quit drinking, I don't know. He came by once to get the rest of his stuff last year, with his friend Dawn, whom he had moved in with. Everything was amicable. From what I understand he's since moved out of her apartment and has his own place. I don't know what he's doing job-wise, only that he isn't doing security at McDonald's anymore.
I'm still doing my security job here in town, only recently I have gone to 3rd shift. Monica was having a hard time doing everything by herself with the kids, so I finally got her to agree to let me switch shifts and help out in the evenings. I think things are going much better; I get to see the boys everyday now instead of just on the weekends, and Monica seems to be a bit less stressed, at least as far as all the running she was doing.
Elizabeth has decided to run away. Well, she hasn't exactly run away, just gone to stay with her aunt and uncle in Knoxville, initially without telling us where she'd gone. For the time being its for the best, since she was involved in a car wreck that totaled the car (no one was hurt), so she can still go to school. She has issues with control and respect, and we're hopefully going to all sit down together and have a group discussion about what control and respect is, as well as expectations and trust. Wish me luck on that.
I've quit smoking cigarettes, and started smoking a pipe. I know, it sounds weird, but I really enjoy the pipe. Wow, that makes me sound like a crack addict... It's more of a pain to clean it and pack it, but it tastes better, has a much larger selection of flavors, and I don't smoke as often. I especially like Paladin's black cherry.
The boys are doing pretty well, though we're going to have James tested for ADHD I think. He's been acting up a lot in school lately, and that's not like him.
Well, I can't think of anything else at the moment, I've been up since last night and need to head to bed soon. I'll try and stay more on top of this... if anyone besides my wife still even bothers looking.
